Spring Concert Highlights

Daniil Trifonov begins the month of May in Paris with a recital program featuring works by Rameau, Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Beethoven (May 2), before bringing the same program to Zürich (May 4) and Basel (May 5). Mid-month, Trifonov performs Mason Bates’s Piano Concerto with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, starting in Rome (May 9–11) and traveling to Hamburg (May 13), Berlin (May 14), Cologne (May 15), and Münich (May 16). On May 18, he joins the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in Salzburg for a concert featuring Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C Major.

Next, Trifonov plays Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (May 30 and June 1). He then tours statewide with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, performing Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in New Brunswick, Princeton, Red Bank, and Newark (June 6–9). From June 20–23, Trifonov joins the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for performances of the Bates concerto. On June 25, he teams with Sergei Babayan to open Bravo! Vail’s Chamber Music Series with an all-Rachmaninoff program featuring two pianos. The following evening, he joins the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at the Festival for an all-Mozart concert that includes the composer’s Piano Concerto No. 9 (June 26). At the Aspen Music Festival, Trifonov performs Mozart’s piano concerto with the Aspen Chamber Symphony (June 28), and rejoins Babayan for their all-Rachmaninoff program (June 29).
