Trifonov is joined by the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) for Ary Barroso’s Aquarela do Brasil, heard in Gonzalo Grau’s arrangement for piano, percussion and orchestra. Blending Trifonov’s virtuosity with the work’s irresistible rhythms, the performance celebrates one of Brazil’s most internationally renowned musical creations.

Trifonov performs “Suave acalanto”, the second movement of the Suite brasileira No. 1 (1936) composed by the celebrated Brazilian composer Oscar Lorenzo Fernández. The piece is from Daniil Trifonov’s upcoming album ‘Mi Historia Americana – Sur’.

Trifonov performs Milonga, Op. 3 No. 1, by Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera, a slower, more lyrical forerunner of the tango, that has its roots in the musical traditions in the historical region of the Río de la Plata.
