The Recording Academy has announced that Daniil Trifonov’s album “Destination Rachmaninov – Arrival,” released on Deutsche Grammophon on October 11, 2019,  has been nominated for a 2021 Grammy Award in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category. Joined by Yannick Nezet-Seguin and the Philadelphia Orchestra, Daniil performs Rachmaninov’s first and third piano concertos on the album. Other nominees in this category include Kirill Gerstein performing with Thomas Adès and the Boston Symphony Orchestra; Igor Levit; Augustin Hadelich performing with Jakub Hrůša and Des Bayerischen Rundfunks; and Richard O’Neill performing with David Alan Miller and the Albany Symphony.
