Today, you can listen to Daniil Trifonov’s transcription of Rachmaninoff’s “Silver Sleigh Bells” everywhere.

On the transcription, Daniil says:

“When I heard ‘Silver Sleigh Bells’ for the first time years ago, I thought it would work so well on a piano, which can imitate bells. It was like transcribing an opera – there is so much detail with every voice having something to say. You can also hear some short snippets of different themes from Rachmaninoff’s other works.” You can hear Daniil speak more about it here.

This is the latest single from Daniil’s upcoming album Destination Rachmaninov: Arrival, which comes out October 11 on Deutsche Grammophon. The album will spotlight Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 3.
